Love Demystified?

I need no touch
For love has touched me
I need no song
For I speak your name

I surrender all I have or did you conquer that? Why do the lines between I and You smudge? What makes me walk that extra mile which I know I never can? How do I persuade myself to ignore what I dislike? Why do I feel devoted to a lesser God? Tolerate dictation and fight it violently at the same time? Change and preserve myself at the same time?

The more you ask, the less you know. Questions pile up but everything has just one answer - Love. How powerful it is? People say there are lot of things that drive the world; money, greed, lust for power, fear, hatred, religion but whenever I have tried to break down and decipher the meaning of all these words I find everything sprouts from love. Either you are in love with yourself or you are in love with somebody else which transcends into different forms.

Now a days, love is like an ad. You label something with it and it sells like hot cakes. Its very overrated today. If you have no one to love in your life, you are considered out of fashion. So everyone is racing to find that special someone. No wonder when you don't know what you want, you end up with all sorts of things and most of it ends faster than it started. Is it necessary it happens to everyone?

Mathematically thinking, lets say in his entire lifespan if Mr. Love Seeker meets 100 people. Out of them one fourth i.e. 25 will be related to him in some or other way. For majority, this is not the set you would be looking out for love. Next 30 are the people who are total strangers, you meet them in a railway station or elevator and don't bother to remember their names. Apart from the cases where love happens in one sight(I don't yet understand the science behind love that happens in an instant, so I would not like to comment on that), this set is also the one which does not hold promise for our Mr. Seeker. Next 20 people will be Mr. Seekers friends whom he would only like to keep as friends, either they are engaged to his friends or are creepy enough for fair consideration. Next 10 people are the ones Mr. Seeker totally admires but knows well that they are completely unattainable. In case he does not have a big Lotto-Luck, this is also the set that he painfully has to keep aside.  There will be 10 people whom Mr. Seeker will despise or hate to such an extent that he won't love them even if they are the only survivors of an apocalypse. Remaining are 5 people. They may be the ones Mr. Seeker likes. But, how probable it is that he will fall in love with one of them?

Because he is supposed to fall in love, does it means he will pick someone from these 5 and coax himself, knowingly or unknowingly to love her. Is this how love happens? Where will and how much will he put the priorities in the long run? If he has not felt the over-turning force that love has, for his entire life he would be living in an illusion of love which was result of a momentary weakness.

So let's stop overrating it. Give everyone a fair chance to let love take over them. Let's not name competition and compromises as love. It is not easy to love, it asks you the greatest price that you can ever pay - You. Those who really love have that strength to earn that price first and then pay it. Others keep rambling all their  life that we gave everything but felt nothing when in reality they have nothing to offer in the first place.

Don't run behind the waves, stand quietly on the shore and let the waves kiss your feet!

Let it Go

Procrastination...A little resolution..Some testing times...And then just let go...Often that's how beginnings begin!

I often wonder why Columbus thought leaving all his comforts behind and set sail into arms of deep dark seas. Is adventure that addictive? Was he bored with his life and wanted to suicide in style..or he just wanted the world to remember him. How did he feel to start something so unique?

Many a times, we have gone through these small first steps which have left their impressions forever in the chronicles of our lives. Remember first time you rode a bike, or brewed your first cup of tea for someone? How was the feeling when you cooked something or had the first drag of your cigarette? First love...first heartbreak? First revolt...first defeat? Spending your first salary...do we really remember these humble beginnings which have our very own signature style.

Even today when you are reading these lines there are a thousand plans in your mind which you are deliberating   on since a few days. Are you scared that it will be wrong, you will be hurt, you will fail? Do you still need time to do something which you have always pushed back in your stack due to other responsibilities?

Just let it go. Start something new..do something you are longing to do. Take out a little time for yourself out of your busy rigmaroles and be a Columbus. Who knows what you are going to find.

:)
